  2. Where did the summer go?

I can't believe it's September 6th already! I spent a few days in Thunder Bay in July, a week in Victoria in August, and a week of 'at home vacation time' in August. We closed down our cabin on September long weekend and turned the keys over to the new owners. I came home from there sicker than a dog! I was home two days this week, went in this morning and came home at noon.

On the knitting front, I have completed 2 pair of mitt liners for my DS, a pair of socks for my cousin and another pair for my DH. Pics are in the camera, I'll download them one of these days LOL! I'm now knitting a pair of cabled socks for me. Then I suppose I better get back work on all the sweaters!

What a fantastic weekend! Kyle and Kelly have a beautiful home on 5 acres of forest overlooking Lake Superior. Aiden is fast becoming a 'little girl'. There's not much 'baby' left.

And this is Aiden! She'd never had sugar before, and she was scooping up the candy the girls dropped on the floor and just shovelling it into her mouth. She was even crawling under the chairs and over the chair rails to get at it! It was hilarious :)

I decided to start a blog on Yuku just hoping it may be easier to update regularly than the one I've neglected on blogger.

Stitching I've been sticking to Flower Power. Just finished week 7. No updated pic because I'm still in the same 'frame'. I was hoping to finish this 12x17 section before Good Friday, but I don't think that's going to happen. Easter Weekend will see the end of week 8, but not much progress as we are going out of town for the weekend.

Family Did I say we're going out of town for Easter Weekend? YES! Driving to Thunder Bay to see the grandbaby...well and DS & DIL also! :lol I opened my big mouth a couple of weeks ago and offered to make cabbage rolls for Easter Dinner. DIL said just to let them know for sure by this past weekend so they could freeze the ones they had ordered.... she then emailed me back... apparently when she told DS that I 'might' be bringing cabbage rolls he said "Might?! There's no might here! My mom's cabbage rolls are the best in the world and she WILL be bringing them.!' That's a really tough reputation to live up to! :lol So this past weekend DH and I cooked 5 cabbages, 5lbs of ground beef, 4 cups of rice, a pound of chopped bacon, an onion and some tomato paste, tomato sauce and my secret ingredient, and then we rolled about 10 dozen cabbage rolls. Gave some to my neighbour and he called last night and raved about how good they were, so I guess I'm safe to take them this weekend ;)

On another note, DH had his appointment with the surgeon this morning and it looks like he's been cleared to return to work! Medium duties only, but at least it's something! It's been a long haul since he hurt himself last June! Looks like he'll be back to work in a couple of weeks!

Hobbies and stuff

I read somewhere that the ad-block would have ads more relevant to 'me' if I had some words in my profile that it could use.... since we can't get rid of the annoyance.....

I love crafts. Most particularly needlearts.... or is that needle arts? I love knitting. Knitting is very cathartic to me. I always tell recipients of knit gifts that each stitch contains a loving thought just for them.
I also love cross stitch. You can see some of my finished work and some of my WIPS on my webspace.
